  Corey Simpson 
   Park Ranger

Corey has been a full time employee since May 2003. His duties include patrolling and maintaining all county areas with a special emphasis on managing and developing the county’s wildlife areas. Corey loves the diversity of the job, everyday is a little different. Corey received an Associate of Science Degree from Kirkwood Community College. During his spare time, Corey and his wife enjoy boating, camping, snowmobiling, and spending time with their families.

Kenneth Vargason
Park Ranger

Ken has been a full time employee since August 1990. His duties include patrolling and maintaining all county areas. Most of his time is spent working at Diamond Lake ensuring that this busy park is being maintained properly for the public to enjoy! Ken received an Associate of Science Degree from Kirkwood Community College. Ken and his wife enjoy camping, and he also loves to hunt, especially big game in Montana
 


Mark Vavroch
Executive Director

Mark has been a full time employee since April 1987. He began his employment with the Board as a park ranger and later was hired as director in 1990. Mark is responsible for the day to day operation of the County Conservation Department, as well as, preparing budgets, making recommendations to the Board, writing grants, and helping maintain and develop all county areas. Mark received a B.S. in Forestry with an emphasis in Outdoor Recreation from Iowa State University. Mark and his family enjoy watching school athletic events, watching college football, fishing and walking Ginger (their lab).
