TURKEY HUNTING
WORKSHOP
March 20, 2008
The Poweshiek County Longbeards Chapter of the NWTF
and the Poweshiek County Conservation Board will be hosting a free
turkey hunting workshop on Thursday, March 20, at the Foster Center
(Diamond Lake) beginning at 7:00 p.m. Rick Adams, a Primos
Prostaffer from Algona, Iowa, will be the featured speaker. Mr.
Adams will cover gear selection, game calling and game tactics. For

Spring HUNTER
SAFETY COURSE OFFERED
April 5, 2008
The Poweshiek County Conservation Board and the Poweshiek County
Pheasants Forever Chapter is offering a Hunter Safety Education
Class on Saturday, April 5, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the
Foster Center (Diamond Lake).
Anyone born after January 1, 1972 is required to complete the hunter
education class before he or she can purchase a hunting license.
You must be 12 years of age or older to attend.
Pre-registration is required and a social security number is
needed. You can register and pickup course materials at the County
Conservation Office (623-3191).

conservation board meetings
The Poweshiek County Conservation Board will have one meeting each
month. Usually, the Board will meet the Tuesday preceding the second
Thursday of the month at the Foster Center, which is located at the
south entrance to Diamond Lake. The public is always welcome to
attend.
